The past few days have been like a whirlwind in slow motion.
Old friends, near and far, have really come together.
We've been sharing stories back and forth and laughing about things Michael would want us to be laughing about. Barriers have gone down, tears have been shed, and shoulders cried on.
It's amazing how a loss brings people together.
And not only that, but a loss like this... one that is unexpected and far too soon, will really remind you not to take the people in your life for granted.
I've noticed hugs have been lasting a little longer and I hold on a little tighter.
You really never know when it could be the last one.
Yesterday, with a few friends, I celebrated the holiday best I could.
I think we were all waiting for Michael to come around the corner with a bundle of sketchy fireworks under his arm.
